Bluefaced Leicester wool, affectionately known as BFL, is fine and dense with a good luster. It’s earned its name due to a dark blue face showing through white wool. Its fleece is in high demand from hand spinners and fiber artists because of its “next to the skin” softness and lustrous shine. Considered a British longwool is also well suited to combing. Because it lacks surface scale on its fiber, it’s brighter and softer than other wools. Highly prized for its likeness to mohair and for its production of attractive lustrous yarns with good resilience. 26 Micron and an average length of 85-90mm.
