Falkland wool, refers not to a breed of sheep but rather to wool grown only on the Falkland Islands, east of Argentina, and not in any other location. Falkland wool is a combination of wool from Dohne Merino, Polwarth and Corriedale breeds. The clip is relatively small compared to other world clips and was, until recently sold predominantly through the UK.
The wool clip from these islands is a very good white. 28 Micron, and the length is 80-100mm with the fleece showing good bulkiness and soft handle. It is especially good for knitting yarn.
