The Merino breed was developed by Spanish Royalty from breeding the finest of Spain’s sheep with the sheep from North Africa. The result was the finest wool ever produced. The Merino is an economically influential breed of sheep prized for its wool.  The breed was originated in Spain.  Merino wool is finely crimped and soft. Merino is considered an ultra-fine wool that is suitable for blending with other fibers such as silk and cashmere.
