Cormo is an Australian breed of sheep developed in Tasmania by crossing Corriedale rams with superfine Saxon Merino ewes in the early 1960s. The name Cormo is derived from the names of two of the parent breeds, Corriedale and Merino. The result of this brilliant combination is a fine, wonderfully soft wool. It has a well-defined regular crimp that gives it a feel of being “fluffy.” The fiber has excellent elasticity while still being super fine. It easily drafts and creates smooth, even yarns, resulting in beautifully crafted handspun creations.

Jacob wool is the classic hand spinners wool, sought-after fiber for spinners seeking a durable but soft wool with a good staple length.  Easy to spin, with a fair amount of loft and spring to it and has just enough luster to give the finished yarn a beautifully subtle sheen.

Bluefaced Leicester wool, affectionately known as BFL, is fine at 26 Microns and an average length of 80-90mm. It is dense with a good luster and is well suited to combing. It is a specialty rare British breed.

Cheviot is a main British wool breed. The Cheviot originated in the Cheviot Hills, on the border of England and Scotland. The wool top is open without being slippery making it an excellent wool for beginner spinners. The Cheviot is known for it's distinctive Helical crimp - a 3 dimensional structure resembling a spiral that gives the wool resilience and bounce.

Superwash Dyed Corriedale Top. The Corriedale fleece is a superior spinning wool with good crimp and soft handle and is very even. The wool produced is approx. 25-30 microns and staple length, 80-120 mm. Our Corriedale wool originates from New Zealand.
