Suffolk Cross Wool Top, 35-40 Micron, 2.5 oz (80% Suffolk, 20% Wool Blend, undyed)
Norwegian White Wool Top, 33-36 Micron, 2.9 oz
Suffolk wool, having a dense fleece and a relatively short staple length is commonly blended with longer staple wools of white, black, and gray, making it easier to spin and work with. It is a fairly bulky top, mostly suitable for outwear or anything that requires a nice dense and thick wool. It's officially called "Grey" but I find it more of a cross between grey and a lovely light brown.
The Norwegian White Sheep (NWS) is a composite breed that accounts for the largest majority of the total Norwegian sheep population. This Nordic blend of several different Norwegian breeds has been said to be a cross between the Norwegian crossbreeds with a British background (dalasau, rygjasau, sheviot and steigar, to name a few). It’s a multipurpose breed with a medium wool and has been described as similar to Corriedale with a higher micron count. The wool is long, which makes it suitable for combing, felting, hand knitting yarns and woven garments, where good resilience is required.
